This early flowering orchid
is a Middle Eastern relative of our own Green Winged Orchid O morio.

Pleione x 'Wharfdale'Shown by Darren Sleep.
A hybrid which combines spring flowering plants with the Autumn
flowering Pleione praecox. Hence the mid-winter flowers.

A particularly good form has been given the name 'Guinea Gold'
